Very cute, but also a good sign that she was really playing with the toy. and was crawling around with a ring around her leg. She even stuck them on her legs (don't ask how).
Not only are the colors bright and the elephant adorable, all the different things a child can do with it help keep their attention. She will sit and play with it exclusively for longer than most toys. This is a well-made toy that is small, but has many great features.
She loves to take off the rings and play with those. We got it for her when she was 8 months old, and I think she'll be playing with it awhile. Our daughter loves it and figured out on her own how to drop the balls in, with and without the elephant head on.
It's immediately reinforcing to do this since the music plays when you successfully drop the ball.
Ever since I realized this, I've only allowed my baby to play with the stacking rings. They seem to be just the right size to get lodged in a baby's mouth. This is a very cute toy and tons of fun for my 7 month old. However, the balls present a possible choking hazard.
It did not keep her attention that long and she did get her finger pinched by the door. My 8 month daughter likes this toy but plays with the rattle balls more than anything else.
They have fun with the rings; two of them have velcro feet/hands and they enjoy putting them together and taking them apart. They try to put other things in the base, like pacifiers, and will reach in to push in the button to make lights and sounds come on. I got this for my twins when they were 11 months old. They also enjoy playing with the balls, which have beads inside that rattle. So, I would give the whole toy only 2 stars since it didn't keep their interest, but the individual parts would get 4 stars. For the first 10 minutes, after I showed them how to put the balls in the funnel, they had great fun. Now, 2 months later, they have more fun with the individual parts than with the toy as a whole.
At abotu 10 months she learned how to drop the balls down the chute and it has been her absolute favorite toy ever since. Her 1 1/2 year old cousin visited last week and went straight for it and fell in love too. My little girl is now 1 but I bought this when she was about 6 months old. Great for coordination putting the balls inside and stacking the rings. I love this toy. It has always been a favorite. At first she like to pull the rings off, then she liked shaking the balls and hearing the rattling noise.
